BBC Correspondent Leaves Her Profession to Follow Her Calling to Religious Life

Martina PurdyMARTINA PURDY, who did Volunteer work at City of Hope in August and September this year, is leaving her profession as political correspondent of BBC in Northern Ireland to follow her calling to Religious Life, as a contemplative.

Our Volunteer, MARTINA PURDY, spent 6 weeks at City of Hope from August to September 2014 and her presence made a tremendous impact on us all. She is one of BBC News NI’s political correspondents in Northern Ireland. Martina has been a journalist for almost 25 years and was happy and enjoyed her profession, but has now decided to follow her calling in religious life. We will always be most grateful to her for her great contribution to the project of City of Hope. We wish her every blessing in her future vocation and will always be united to her in spirit and prayer.
